Why Take a TEFL Course?
One of the best reasons just might be; it’s required if you want to teach in Thailand. The Thai Ministry of Education has made the TEFL program mandatory. The importance of having a TEFL certificate is huge! The reasons one should take it seriously, and not just any TEFL course is this:
- It is required, no exceptions!
- The TLS Language School TEFL course is targeted to the Thai people.
- What are the problems the Thai people have when it comes to learning English?

- Maybe most important, what is the secret to making it easier and easier each year?
One of the biggest concerns of those that want to teach in Thailand is job placement.
Wouldn’t it be great to come to a foreign country for the first time, get some assistance in finding a place to stay, and after a short certification course, have a job? Who wouldn’t want that?
Our job placement service is to guarantee your pay. Guarantee your working papers are complete. Guarantee your rights are protected.
You will need some assistance adjusting to a completely different world. We are here to help you! Other schools take your money, give a generic course, they do hand you a certificate, and that’s the end of it. Join the TLS family and be sure that you’re being looked after. Our teacher’s welfare is in our best interest.
Those that have come here before, or are experienced travelers, know the issues involved when dealing with visas. To say it can be a daunting task is an understatement. TLS Language School has expert visa assistance. Don’t find yourself between a rock and a hard place because “out of the blue” you’ve been told to leave the country or worse—these things do happen! Let our visa experts take care of those concerns for you. It’s what we do!
Can I teach legally in Thailand if I don’t have a degree?
Technically speaking, should one not have a degree, one is not eligible to obtain a teacher’s license and a work permit. Though it sometimes seems that “anything goes” here, this is not necessarily the case. Many schools will issue you working papers and a teacher’s license based on how much they like you, usually after a 3-6 month evaluation. How much they like you will mostly depend on how well you teach. For those that have never taught, or have never taught in Asia, or have never taught the Thai people, how much they like you may depend on how serious you were when you took the TEFL course.
SO: if you’re looking to meet the requirements to teach here, or looking for a job, or a place to study Thai language, or any language for that matter, or need assistance with a long term visa, (it’s easier than you think!) or all of the above, call or e-mail us for more information.
